You can not taste the coconut oil. It's a solid, and it brings all the ingredients together. You could probably use butter or even shortening.

Oh I am so excited that you liked this recipe. They were my favorite bites to have and I tried to spread them out over the week but day after day they kept disapearing. They were a great sweet tooth snack so I am happy you chose these.
