"Matched" by Ally Condie is a beautiful piece of work! I read it in 1 day, and loved every minute.  Here is the summary:

Amazon.com Review

Amazon Best Books of the Month, December 2010: For Cassia, nothing is left to chance--not what she will eat, the job she will have, or the man she will marry. In Matched, the Society Officials have determined optimal outcomes for all aspects of daily life, thereby removing the "burden" of choice. When Cassia's best friend is identified as her ideal marriage Match it confirms her belief that Society knows best, until she plugs in her Match microchip and a different boy’s face flashes on the screen. This improbable mistake sets Cassia on a dangerous path to the unthinkable--rebelling against the predetermined life Society has in store for her. As author Ally Condie’s unique dystopian Society takes chilling measures to maintain the status quo, Matched reminds readers that freedom of choice is precious, and not without sacrifice.--Seira Wilson

My Review: *****   A story about a rigid government in a perfect world... a dystopia. Much more than the book cover says, this book is about love, freedom, faith, and family. Written for Young Adults, it moves fast and pulls at your heartstrings. I was a little disappointed in the ending - what happens???- and hope there is a sequel! I will be sharing this book with everyone I know!

I would highly recommend going out and getting this book! **Update- I did some research, and this is the 1st book in a trilogy! Yay! The second book "Crossed" will be released on November 1, 2011!**

*I have a great recipe coming tomorrow! Get your sweet tooth ready!

  1. I love this kind of futuristic book, where we are all controlled and then people always start to realise they have free will.
