Some of my favorite Etsy Edibles!

I love Etsy. I love the idea that everything is handmade. I love the people, and getting to browse shops for hours. But you know what I really love? The food. Of course!  Since I used to sell food on Etsy, I came to know some amazing woman who have fantastic food. Their standards are super high, and it shows! So, feast your eyes on these goodies!

Chicken tamales by A Thyme 2 b Comforted. These tamales made me a believer. Moist and unbelievably flavorful. Mmmm...

Lollipops by Sweet Lollipop Shop. Santa Claus brings these to our house every year. They also show up on Valentine's day, Easter... any time I want them to...
You'll be amazed at the shapes and flavors she makes! They are sooo good!

Kitchen Stories is my favorite place to get unique spice blends. I live on her Garlic and Herb mix, as well as her Italian Spice Blend. She also carries some baking mixes. Her Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies are to die for.

These are seriously the BEST Cake Bites I've ever had. The Fetching Hound is fast, friendly, and will satisfy every sweet tooth you have!

And if you are looking for a special treat for your furry pet, Lucky Dog Treat Company is the place to shop!

Enjoy!

Some top notch meals!

This last week has been a fabulous food week. I've made a few meals from other blogs that beg to be made again and again. My camera isn't working right now, so I decided to just outline these winning recipes here!

Baked Potato Soup by Our Best Bites. You knew they had to be on the list, right? This soup was amazingly rich and tasty. I ate a bowlful every day... even for breakfast one day! Potatoes... bacon...cheese... those are breakfast foods, right?  It's quick, easy, and a *tiny* bit healthier than other soups with cream.

Pizza Factory-Like Breadsticks from Ambition's Kitchen.  These were so easy to make, that my 5 and 4 yr old helped. They were HUGE and very tasty. The only change I'll make next time is to put the Parmesan cheese on the inside, and more seasoning.  I didn't want to over-do the garlic, but I didn't do enough!

Roasted Garlic Pesto Cream Pasta from Taste and Tell was wonderful. My husband raved about it. I had to use jarred pesto, but it worked just fine. The cream added a wonderful layer, and the roasted garlic made it shine.  This is going on our permanent meal rotation!

Have fun exploring these wonderful blogs!

It's my SITSA day!!

Welcome SITSA'S!!

Come on in, pull up a chair, and a fork... and get to eating! This is my humble blog. It has some home and children advice, some book reviews, but mostly FOOD! I've learned that I love to be in the kitchen. I love to create new recipes, and to feed others. Browse through my Recipe index to find something for your next party!

Have you heard of SITS? It's a fabulous site for women bloggers to spread the comment love. If you haven't been over there, go now! (Or when you're done reading here...)

So, welcome, and have fun looking around!

** There has been some confusion on the Caramel Apples! I used to have a small candy business, and made and sold those apples. You won't find the recipe here, but I can help with tips!

Thanks for all of the wonderful comments! I will work on getting back to each of you this week!

Delectable Delights

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite treat shops.

These cupcakes and other amazing confectionary delights are just amazing. I've bought and eaten more then I will admit...
and they are all wonderful!

These cupcakes are moist, soft, and oh, so good. There are just not words to describe them! Even after spending a few days in the mail, they taste like they are fresh out of the oven.

The owner, and baker, Ryll, is a fantastic lady. She just took a break to have a baby (so cute!!) and now is back on Etsy selling her cuppies. I like her even though she makes fun of my coconut obsession...

Ryll is also amazing at accommodating custom orders. You can visit her website and pick and choose from her long list of flavors to create your perfect cupcake!

So, I encourage you to go visit Delectable Delights right now and order some delish treats for Christmas! You're neighbors will adore you forever!

Scrumptulicious Cookies

There is nothing better than coming home to a mystery box sitting by the mailbox.

Opening it...

Moving aside the gorgeous tissue paper wrapping...

Pulling out a sturdy white box...

Opening the box...

COOKIES!!!

The box was full of sample cookies from Scrumptulicioius Cookies!

Shortbread of various flavors... chocolate chip cookies... cherry cookies... my mouth was watering!

The first bite of the shortbread blew me away. I'm not a big fan of shortbread- I don't go out and buy it, but this one sooo good!

Seriously, though. This shop is more than amazing cookies. It has an amazing, and heartbreaking story.

Kristen's family is facing major hardships.
She lost her job a year ago.
Her husband was diagnosed with Kidney Disease.
They are barely making enough money to put food on the table.

Kristen started baking to help raise money for her family.
It's helping... but it's a daily struggle.

I hope that you can help. Christmas is coming. How about cookies for friends and neighbors?
How about cookies on your Thanksgiving table?

You can find her lovely shop and WONDERFUL cookies at her Etsy Shop.

I know I'm getting some Coconut Shortbread!

Go visit her shop! You won't be sorry!
