Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
**I found this description of Fibromyalgia on a support website. While I do not suffer from everyone of these symptoms; I do from most of them.
Imagine feeling throbbing, intense pain in multiple areas of your body for no apparent reason.
Imagine feeling like your verbal and motor skills are impaired when they were fine a minute ago.
Imagine feeling like you have missed sleep for a week when you have just gotten out of bed.
Imagine something going wrong with your body everyday, when you have done nothing out of the ordinary.
Imagine having uncontrollable shakes and tremors and shocks of pain run through you, and disappear as quickly as they came; leaving you awaiting their return.
Imagine having unexplained weight gain, making you feel even more painful.
Imaging having to live a "normal" life in society, yet knowing your abnormalities will mess that up for you anytime of any day.
Imagine striving to be the best Mother and Wife you could be and being left to feel useless many times over awaiting to feel normal again.
You have now imagined what it is like to be me. I live with Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is a nasty disorder. I tell people, imagine you have a really bad flu. You've tossed and turned all night long and wake up feeling like you've been hit by a Mac truck and your mind a complete fog. Now imagine waking up every single morning feeling like that, and having some MD tell you there's nothing wrong with you. That's Fibromyalgia.
ReplyDeleteTake heart! We don't suffer alone!
I can't imagine suffering through something like this. I get so annoyed just with a headache. stopping by from SITS
ReplyDeleteHey! I knew I loved you for a reason! I have fibromyalgia also. It's terrible.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to find others with it and hear how they manage life. Some days are great but most days I have to take a nap on my office floor at lunch to make it through the day. It's now the office joke! :)
Thanks for your comments and support!
ReplyDeleteStacy,
I love you too! lol! I'm a member of the National Fibro Assoc. fan page on fb. Check it out: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/fmaware?ref=ts. Lots of info and support.
It's nice that you get to take naps! I'm home in the afternoon, and my 3 little ones are so good about letting me take naps when I need them. I've been blessed!
I have a few friends with this and it's just aweful. I'll keep you in prayer!
