Week 14 Meal Plan

Last week I had my very cool SITS day feature.  One of the most popular blog features were my menu plans. I haven't actually done a new one for awhile, due to lack of interest, but since it sounds like there IS interest, I'll give it another go!

This week features all new meals, or meals featured on the blog so long ago that no one saw them! For those of you who are new: I don't plan certain meals for certain days.  I just plan out 6 meals, plus 1 dessert, and make them in any order I want. That way, I'm not as tied in to a plan. It makes it a little easier for me to follow.  Make sense? Okay! Here we go!

Day 1: Smokey Black Bean Soup with salad and/or crusty bread
Day 2: Skillet Pork chops with carrots and potatoes. Serve with bread or salad.
Day 3: Grandaddy's Tostado's. You will love the sauce on these! Serve with Black Beans and Rice.
Day 4: Monterrey Skillet Hamburgers with fries. (A 30-min. meal!) ** See note below!!
Day 5: Beef Tenderloin with a Mushroom and Garlic Butter sauce. Serve with Romaine Parmesan Salad. This is a fancy meal for a fancy  night- but takes only 30 minutes to make!
Day 6: Waffle Fruit Bar with sausage or bacon.

Dessert: S'mores Stuffed Brownies ** See note below!

The complete menu, recipes, and shopping list can be downloaded here.  Enjoy!! I would love to hear if you try any of these!

**Edited on Sep. 7, 2010: I made the Monterrey Hamburgers last night. I was disappointed. All of those wonderful flavors added in... and somehow the burger was very bland. :(  If you want to substitute another burger, try the Grilled Cheese Hamburgers. They are my favorite!

**S'mores Stuffed Brownies. These were good, but not what I was expecting. I couldn't taste the graham crackers, the chocolate just melted in (but who can get enough chocolate?), and the marshmallow's caramelized. Basically, it was a normal brownie with a hint of chewy marshmallow. So sorry to disappoint again!  If you are dying for a good brownie recipe, try my Dark Chocolate Brownies with Hazelnuts!
